Applying to Hawthorne Valley School

Thank you for your interest in Hawthorne Valley School. We welcome all inquiries. The Hawthorne Valley School admission and interview procedures are listed below.

1. Fill out and send the Online Request Form on the Admissions & Information Inquiry Form section of this website.

2. Come to an Open House or arrange for a private tour. Tours are scheduled throughout the school year.

3. Submit the completed application form to the Admissions Office along with the $55.00 application fee.

•Parents of lower school and high school Waldorf applicants should send the most recent school reports, records and grades.

•High school applicants should also submit one or two letters of recommendation.

4. When all the application materials are received, families are contacted for an interview.

•In the kindergarten and lower school, the interview takes place with the parents, student, and two class teachers.

•In addition to being interviewed, middle school students may be given an informal aptitude test in English and math.

•In the high school, two high school faculty members interview the applicant.

•All Waldorf students should bring representative main lesson books to the interview.

5. Once the student is accepted, a contract package is mailed to the family.
