Hawthorne Valley School is located in Columbia County, in the Hudson Valley region, of New York State.
It is two and a half hours north of New York City,
three hours west of Boston, and approximately an half hour drive from Albany
and Poughkeepsie. Albany International Airport is a half hour from the school.
Train service on the Metroliner is available to the Hudson Station,
about fifteen minutes away.
From the South
From New York City: Drive north on the Taconic State Parkway. Exit at Harlemville/Philmont, Exit 217. Take 21C east towards Harlemville. The school is approximately 2 miles on the right.
From Long Island and Westchester:
Follow I-684 to Brewster, connecting to I-84 west. Take I-84 west to the Taconic State Parkway north, then follow the New York City directions above.

Exit at Rip Van Winkle Bridge/Catskill/Hudson, Exit 21.
Take Rt. 23 east to Taconic State Parkway.
Take the Parkway north to Harlemville, Exit 217. Take 21C east towards Harlemville. The school is approximately 2 miles on the right.
From
the Taconic State Parkway:
Exit at Harlemville/Philmont, Exit 217. Take 21C east towards Harlemville. The school is approximately 2 miles on the right.
From the East
From Boston and points east:
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West to the New York State Thruway (the Berkshire spur) to the Taconic State Parkway. Exit at Harlemville/Philmont, Exit 217. Take 21C east towards Harlemville. The school is approximately 2 miles on the right.
From the West
From the New York State Thruway and points west:
Take the New York State Thruway and exit at Rip Van Winkle Bridge/Catskill/Hudson, Exit 21.
Take Rt. 23 east to Taconic State Parkway.
Take the Parkway north to Harlemville, Exit 217. Take 21C east towards Harlemville. The school is approximately 2 miles on the right.
